Nursing Home Ministry

On the first Sunday of each month Foster Road Baptist Church goes to the Northridge Care Center on Baker Boulevard in Baker to minister to the people that live there. Bro. Mike Morris presents a Gospel Message each month along with the singing of hymns and refreshments and fellowship with the residents. The residents at Northridge hold a special place in our hearts and bless us time and again as we visit with them each month.  If you would like to be a part of this ministry, please join us and call the church office at 225.775.0884.

National Missions

Annual Mission Trip

Each year, FRBC sets aside time and resources to allow a number of our membership to participate in an out-of-state mission trip. For the past few years this has involved missions into Native American reservations in New Mexico, coordinated with the assistance of other local missionary organizations. Members volunteer each year to undertake the journey out of a genuine desire to reach the native people of this continent with the love of Jesus Christ.

Annie Armstrong Easter Offering

FRBC is a regular participant in the annual Annie Armstrong Easter Offering conducted by the Southern Baptist Convention through the North American Missions Board.

"Time and again our missionaries relate how the offering is their lifeblood. They know that behind each penny given, there is a Southern Baptist who believes in what they do and are affirming the need to equip them to share the gospel with those who need a Savior." Learn more.

International Missions

The Gideons International

FRBC supports the Gideons International in their mission to distribute bibles to every corner of the globe and actively encourages members to encourage, donate to, pray for, and volunteer with the Gideons.

"Having God's Word can and does lead people to faith in Christ, and those new Christians then grow by studying their Scriptures and even use them to share their faith with others.

For this reason, we focus on distributing complete Bibles or New Testaments. These copies of God's Word are printed in more than 90 languages and are either given directly to certain individuals or placed in selected public locations where large numbers of people, who may be searching for answers, will have the ability to encounter the Word of God." Missionary Adoption: The Rayburn Family

The Rayburns are a family of missionaries operating in Paraguay. Although they aren’t members of FRBC, but are known to us through some of our membership, we have decided to “adopt” this family in their mission to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to the native peoples of South America. We have committed to supporting this family in their efforts through prayer and encouragement, and to help them set a positive example for other aspiring missionaries in our own membership. You can learn more about the Rayburns at their blog, the Rayburn Mensaje.

Lottie Moon Christmas Offering

FRBC is a regular participant in the annual Lottie Moon Christmas Offering conducted by the Southern Baptist Convention through the International Missions Board.

"As followers of Jesus, we – the Church – are called to be the body of Christ. We are His heart, His hands and His voice in the midst of a world filled with unreached peoples. We are part of the task to fulfill the Great Commission. And although we Southern Baptists have been praying, giving and going for 160 years, the task is far from finished." Learn more.

Verse of the Day

“Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain.”
